Hi everyone,
Mother’s Day is this weekend 💛
If you haven’t planned anything yet, you’re not alone. And honestly… it doesn’t have to be anything big.
Most of us just want a little time together. Something simple. Something real.
The things that end up meaning the most are usually the little ones — a drawing, a handmade card, a messy craft, or just sitting side by side doing something together.
💐 Simple ideas that still work
There’s still plenty of time for easy, meaningful things kids can do:
- make something by hand
- pick flowers and put them together
- help with breakfast (even if it’s a little chaotic 😄)
- write a short “why I love you” note
It doesn’t need to be perfect — that’s kind of the point.
🌼 Getting out (keep it easy)
If you want to get out of the house this weekend, there are some really nice, low-key options around the area:
- take a walk at Duke Farms
- explore Washington Valley Park
- grab ice cream or a casual bite and just sit outside
Nothing complicated — just time together.
🎨 Quick creative idea
If your kids enjoy hands-on activities, even setting up a small art moment at home can make the day feel special.
At All Children's Art Center of NJ, we always see how much kids love creating something for someone they care about — and how proud they feel giving it.
💛 Just a reminder
Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful.
Sometimes it’s just:
- slowing down
- being present
- letting kids be kids
And that’s usually enough.
